iClever IC-BK10 Keyboard, won't stay connected

MacOS - 10.15.7 (Catalina)
Keyboard brand new. Says it's connected. Goes to sleep? in the middle of typing. Refuses to re-connect properly after waking. Very slow response. Unusable in this state. Is there a fix or have I just been robbed?
